In 1994, the Indiana General
Assembly passed Zachary's Law
named after ten-year-old Zachary Snider, who was molested
and
murdered by a neighbor. The neighbor had a previous conviction
for Child
molestation. Zachary's law requires offenders convicted
of specified sex and
violent crimes to register with local law enforcement
agencies in the area they reside or
intend to reside for more than seven days.
For more details on the offenses or to check other
areas for
convicted offenders, please access the Indiana Sheriff's
web page and click on sex & violent offender Registry.
